Custom inspection robot development
An inspection robot has to patrol on schedule, follow a route and bring the data back. The platform is half of it; the other half is sensors, algorithms and the inspection software.
Choosing the platform
- Quadruped: stairs, steps, gravel, narrow passages, indoors and outdoors.
- UGV (wheeled or tracked): heavy payload and long runtime on roads and large sites.
- Drone: lines, pipelines, rooftops, grain surfaces and other elevated or wide areas.
Typical inspection tasks
- Thermal measurement and overheating alarms
- Gauge, indicator light and switch position reading
- Combustible and toxic gas, SF6 and VOC detection; acoustic imaging for leaks
- Intrusion, fire, smoke and foreign object detection, with loudspeaker and strobe deterrence
- Mission planning, reports and alarm push, results on a 3D map
